I asked my friends how their gardens were doing since they had spent a lot of time planting and weeding. Here are a couple of responses:

"Trust me, you don't want to see mine. We have a problem with these huge leafy weeds that seem like they grow a foot a week! I cannot get rid of them and I detest yard work. But, if I don't pull (really cut) them, they will get as tall as the house!"

"All I got from my garden is heartache. The flower beds did fine but the veggies turned out sad. Should have given the ground a break this year."
